I know - its been a while since I have written. I am making my way back - and hope to put up a few posts on some things that have been rattling around in my mind the past while.

Thanks for sharing the short clip -- short, but powerful. The notion that the Christian faith is about living the kingdom "now", not waiting for when we die, turns the evangelical movement I remember from my youth on its head. But what Willard doesn't address (probably cause it's too short a clip!) is that this perspective changes everything about the way we view the world -- it's not just about personal faith. It should change the way we view creation (and the environment), politics, the arts, our views on war, peace, and the way we educate our children. It's all-encompassing. Kind of exciting way to refresh it. Thanks for that.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. In fact, that is EXACTLY what Willard will argue should be our worldview. I know it's a bit cowardly to simply recommend a book - but the "Divine Conspiracy" is perhaps the best Willard articulation of the whole idea. in particular, the back half of this book talks a great deal about this whole thing being "turned on its head" as you said.
